Contributor terms

• You keep your copyright. Nothing you upload becomes ours. You grant a license so the recording can live on the map — you stay the owner.
• Open (CC BY 4.0) is the default, and it's permanent. Unless you tag a recording Protected at upload, it's released publicly under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 — anyone may share, remix, and use it commercially with credit to you. That choice can't be undone.
• You must have the rights to everything in the recording. Your own capture, cleared music and performances, consent for identifiable voices, and lawful access to where you recorded. No AI-generated or faked field recordings.
• Locations are public. Every pin shows where it was recorded. Never pin a home, shelter, or clinic — use location fuzzing near sensitive addresses.
• 13+ and one account per person. You must be at least 13 (under 18 with a guardian's consent), give a real email, and use a public display name that becomes your attribution credit.
• Plans, storage, and billing. Free accounts upload up to one minute per recording; paid tiers unlock longer recordings and more storage, renew automatically, and can be cancelled any time.
• We moderate, and we can remove content. Prohibited content — privacy violations, harassment, sexual content, falsified recordings — is removed and can end your account. Removal doesn't revoke a Creative Commons license already granted.
• As-is, and you indemnify us. The archive is provided without warranty, liability is capped, and you're responsible for claims arising from what you upload. Keep your own copies of your work.
